Live! Casino & Hotel Accused of Violating Wage Laws

For Immediate Release

April 30, 2020 (KANSAS CITY, MO) – A class action lawsuit has been filed against Live! Casino & Hotel in Hanover, Maryland, for failing to pay its tipped employees properly under federal and state wage laws.  

 

The complaint alleges that Live! Casino & Hotel violated its tipped employees’ rights by (1) deducting gaming license fees from their wages, and (2) failing to inform them of the required tip credit provisions before paying them a sub-minimum base wage.

The lawsuit seeks to recover unpaid wages for all hourly, tipped employees who were paid a base wage that was at or below the federal or state minimum wage who worked at Live! Casino & Hotel between April 30, 2017 and the present.

The case is Day v. PPE Casino Resorts Maryland, LLC d/b/a Live! Casino & Hotel, No. 1:20-cv-01120, pending in the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.
